I Introduction
Established in 1999, International Economics and Trade is one of the departments with the longest history at IBS. The undergraduate degree program of International Economics and Trade is a four-year program, with the first two years focusing on teaching the fundamentals of economics and improving students’ English skills, while the final two years emphasize in-depth courses (both theoretical and practical) in the fields of international economics and international trade. In 2021, the major of International Economics and Trade of IBS was approved as one of the National First-Class Undergraduate Programs in China.
II Program highlights
Students enrolled in this program will be able to learn from and work with top academics in the International Trade and Economics field who have been recruited from home and abroad; customized English courses and the chance to study abroad will be able to help them achieve a global perspective, and also provide them with the opportunity to study economics from the perspective of China, after decades of rapid growth and social development has become the second-largest economy in the world.
By completing the program, students will acquire a thorough understanding of economic theories, international laws and regulations, become familiar with key economics analytical techniques, and become equipped with cross-cultural communication skills that further hone their ability to analyze international economic issues.

Finance
I Introduction
Since its inception in 2002, IBS’s undergraduate degree program in Finance has been one of the most popular programs offered by BFSU. After two decades of exploration and development, the Finance Department is now one of IBS’s top departments. In 2010, the faculty of the Finance Department was awarded “Beijing Excellent Teaching Team”; in 2020, the Finance major of IBS was approved as one of the First-class Undergraduate Programs in Beijing; in 2022, it was approved as one of the National First-class Undergraduate Programs in China.
II Programs highlights
Over the past two decades, IBS’s Finance Department faculty has through its considerable and continuous efforts successfully distinguished itself from its Chinese and overseas counterparts. All finance major students take customized English courses that enable them to communicate confidently in an English business context. Students also take various courses that provide them with a comprehensive understanding of business studies, with finance courses in particular connecting the fields of finance, international trade, accounting, etc. This allows students to gain a holistic perspective, which makes them strong team players and excellent candidates for leadership roles. In addition to academic distinction, the Finance Department faculty also strives to improve students’ practical skills. our Many of the core courses offered in the Finance program make extensive use of the Finance Laboratory, one of China’s National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers, which provides students with the opportunity to learn using simulation and econometric software. The department also builds partnerships with leaders from the financial sector, and financial professionals routinely visit our campus to offer lectures and workshops, provide career advice, and mentor students on an individual basis. Finally, Finance major students have the opportunity to participate in various exchange programs, and to gain exceptional experience during their study-abroad terms at leading universities and institutions both at home and abroad. IBS’s strong ties with partners such as the CFA Institute provides students with the opportunity to broaden their horizons and to gain extensive financial industry experience. In early 2019, one of our Finance major students was awarded the "Best Performance Award" in the CFA Institute Research Challenge (North China Region).

Accounting
I Introduction
The Accounting Department of IBS was established in 2004, and it currently offers degrees at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral level. Since the earliest days, the department has attracted academic talents from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China as well as leading universities globally. Thanks to their joint efforts, the department has grown to become one of IBS’s top departments for undergraduate teaching. In 2021, the Bachelor of Management in Accounting program was approved as one of the National First-class Undergraduate Programs in China, one of the first two IBS programs of IBS to gain such recognition.

Relying on the multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-regional research advantages of BFSU and the multi-level and cross-cultural platform constructed by IBS, the major of Accounting adapts itself to the Chinese Central Government’s strategies, focusing on cultivating outstanding management talents with global vision and a deep understanding of Chinese culture and business practices.
Throughout the four-year program, Business and Accounting courses are offered along with customized English courses, enabling students to communicate confidently in an English business context. The program curriculum is revised on a regular basis to ensure that the curriculum remains cutting-edge and relevant to the complex and ever-changing business landscape. In the meantime, faculty also makes a conscious effort to establish strong ties with professional and business leaders in the accounting sector, so that students can gain internship opportunities and mentors from the industry.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to: 1) describe, explain, and integrate the fundamental theoretical concepts underlying the fields of accounting, finance, management, etc.; 2) understand the collection, organization, and presentation of financial information for effective decision-making; and 3) acquire a global vision and a deep understanding of Chinese culture and business practices.

Financial Management

In March 2018, after seven years of exploration and development, the Financial Management track was separated from the Accounting program and turned into an independent undergraduate program. At present, the Financial Management program has become one of the signature programs of IBS, emphasizing the cultivation of “cross-cultural, multilingual and international” business elites.

IBS’s Business Administration major was first offered in 2009, when academics hailing from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China and leading overseas universities convened with a shared goal: to turn this program into one of IBS’s top undergraduate degree programs. In 2020, the Business Administration major was approved as one of the First-class Undergraduate Programs in Beijing; in 2022, it was approved as one of the National First-class Undergraduate Programs in China.

IBS’ Business Administration major has succeeded in distinguishing itself from their Chinese and overseas counterparts. Throughout the four-year program, students take customized English courses that enable them to communicate confidently in an English business context. The program offers two different tracks for students, so they can pursue a course of study that best aligns with their career plans: those interested in academia can apply for school-level research projects and join the research teams of IBS faulty members ; those who are career-oriented can pursue opportunities that allow them to visit real companies, build contacts with industrial mentors, and develop practical skills. Finally, the program curriculum is revised and updated on a regular basis in order to enhance student competitiveness. In the latest revision of program curriculum, courses such as Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence were added to allow students to adapt more quickly to the changing environment and become more competitive candidates in the job market.

International Business
I Introduction

In March 2018, after almost ten years of exploration and development, the International Business track was separated from the Business Administration program and turned into an independent undergraduate program. At present, it has become one of the signature programs of IBS, emphasizing the cultivation of “cross-cultural, multilingual and international” business elites.
II Program Highlights
The International Business program offers intensive English courses spanning all four years, all major core courses are delivered in English, and Chinese and international students learn together in the same class. These arrangements help students to hone their English skills and develop cross-cultural communication skills, such as negotiation and conflict management. This may motivate students to crave more international experience, and they would have the opportunity to apply for various exchange programs offered by IBS.
Upon completion of the four-year undergraduate program, International Business students will: master interdisciplinary knowledge of a variety of international business fields such as management, economics, marketing, accounting, finance, etc.; and gain cross-cultural understanding and experiences, as well as the ability to take on leadership roles when dealing with cross-cultural issues in business.

Upon graduation, International Business students will be equipped with strong cross-cultural skills, teamwork spirit, and professional expertise in their field of study, which makes them highly competitive in the job market. Electronic Commerce
I Introduction
First established in 2001, the Electronic Commerce program is an interdisciplinary program that combines business knowledge and technical skills, preparing undergraduate students for success in the highly competitive and increasingly technical business world of the twenty-first century. Since 2018, the program has begun to lean in the direction of digital operation and innovation. In 2022, the Electronic Commerce major was approved as one of the National First-class Undergraduate Programs in China.
II Program Highlights
The Electronic Commerce major emphasizes the importance of E-commerce operation, big data analysis and global vision, and offers to students four course modules: E-commerce Operation and Management, Data Analysis and Application Technology, Internet Innovation, and Cross-border E-commerce Competency. The program delivers to students a combination of professional knowledge, laboratory platform, practical cooperation and academic research, and they are encouraged to develop digital entrepreneurship skills based on their understanding of E-commerce product design, market planning, inventory management, supply chain management, and E-commerce system design.
Additionally, senior students will be directed to either research-based or practice-based programs according to their own interests and career plans. Students who desire more international experience and the chance to develop a global vision will have the opportunity to expand their horizons further in overseas exchange programs.

Information Management and Information Systems
(Big Data and Business Analytics)
I Introduction
First established in 2001, the Information Management and Information System program is an interdisciplinary program that combines business knowledge and technical skills, preparing undergraduate students for success in the highly competitive and increasingly technical business world of the twenty-first century. Since 2018,the program has begun to lean in the direction of big data and business analysis, a decision which has proven to be transformative and which has allowed the program to be recognized as a trend-starter among Chinese universities. In 2020, the program was approved as one of the First-class Undergraduate Programs in Beijing; in 2022, it was approved as one of the National First-class
Undergraduate Programs in China.
II Program Highlights
With its emphasis on Information Systems, Big Data Analysis, and Decision-making Management, this major strives to become an interdisciplinary program that link Big Data Business Analysis with specific industries such as FinTech and E-Commerce. In the most recent revision of program curriculum, updates were made so that new approaches and methods of Big Data Analysis are included in the course design and delivery. In this most recent program curriculum, courses pertaining to data analysis have been reconfigured into four consecutive modules, based on difficulty – the courses progress from basic programming languages, to data mining and machine learning, to advanced business analytics technology, and ultimately to business analytics application. These courses are delivered to students through a combination of professional knowledge, laboratory platform, practical cooperation and academic research. Holistically speaking, student learning will be delivered through a combination of theoretical courses, simulation courses, industrial practice, and research projects.
