Cultivation Tracks

MBA program offers two majors, Global Digital Innovation and International Finance Management and requires two years of full-time study or three years of part-time study. Students must complete 45 credits (full-time) or 41 (part-time) credits of study before applying for a degree. The objective of the program is to cultivate talents with expertise of digital innovation or international finance management.

The global digital innovation major is committed to equip students with profound insights in business, the digital development frontier, business model innovation, digital transformation methods, the domestic and foreign business investment and financing systems, innovative thinking and leadership, and intercultural communication ability. The two-year study will enable students to lead a multicultural innovation team and deal with various challenges in complex international business situations. And the international finance management major is to provide students who have working experiences in the area of finance or management with frontier management methods and means, modern management and business awareness, a thorough understanding of finance and management, a mastery of cross-culture communication, global vision, innovation spirit, decision-making and strategic planning ability. Through two-year study, students are expected to be expert at finance and management and be able to tackle challenges from complex and volatile international financial market.

 

Curriculum

The MBA curriculum is designed to ensure students’ learning outcomes and the achievement of learning goals of the program. The curriculum consists of public courses, public degree core courses, specialized degree core courses, elective courses, and required sessions (academic activity and social practice). To meet the graduation requirements, students need to finish the study of 45 credits (full-time) or 41 credits (part-time) and pass the thesis defense. If students participate in a foreign exchange student program, they can apply for transferring credits in accordance with the regulation “BFSU Graduate Student Studying Abroad Management and Credit Transfer”. The details of curriculum structure for the MBA program are shown below.

To ensure high-quality learning results, the courses of MBA program combine the face-to-face classroom instruction model with extracurricular activities. The face-to-face teaching mode includes faculty lectures, class presentation, case studies, group report, and extracurricular activities consisting of experts’ lecturing, company visits, reading training, company consultancy report, and internship. The diversity of teaching methods helps students have a thorough understanding of business and multi-cultural management, shoulder social responsibility, behave ethically in business, and become future business leaders with global vision. Each MBA student will be assigned two supervisors: an academic supervisor and an enterprise supervisor. The academic supervisor will help students in academic learning, investigation and decision-making, ethical awareness and improvement, and thesis and the mentor-mentee relationship will help students improve the ability of managing business in various situations, and enhance their business ethics and communication skills.

A degree thesis is an important mean of measuring students’ learning outcomes. MBA students need to pass a thesis defense before obtaining the degree. Since MBA program is practice-oriented, MBA thesis is aimed to helping students improve their ability of addressing real world problems. It can be a case analysis report, an enterprise management diagnostic report, or an investigation report. Students can choose topics related to internship, work practices, or business cases. The contents of a thesis should be original and organized logically, and demonstrate students’ ability of applying theories, knowledge, and methods to real management problems. The entire process for MBA thesis includes the following phases: mid-term examination, literature review and open report, the first draft of thesis, pre-defense, final version of thesis and duplicate checking, thesis review, defense application and qualification examination, and formal defense. Students should pass all phases before awarding the degree.
