Mathematics in Economics I
Course Overview
This course includes mathematical problems arising in management and economic sciences and is intended for those planning to major in business. Main Topics include an introduction to differential and integral calculus. Examples in business are used to motivate the mathematical presentations. . This introductory course covers differentiation and integration of functions of one variable, with applications. Topics include limits and continuity, derivatives, rules of differentiation, higher order derivatives, chain rule, related rates, Rolle's and the mean value theorem, critical points, integrals, Fundamental Theorem, techniques of integration, definite integrals, application to geometry and science. Indeterminate forms, L'Hospital's Rule, and improper integrals.
