The 2017 Experimental Class of International Economics and Trade (Chinese-foreign Cooperative Education) and 2018 Class 5

In December 2020, the Student Work Committee of Beijing Universities launched a selection for the outstanding establishment of grassroots organizations of students in Beijing universities. The 2017 Experimental Class of International Economics and Trade (Chinese-foreign Cooperative Education) and 2018 Class 5 of Information Management and Information System of the IBS stood out in which, and won the honorary title of " Model of Beijing University Student Basic Organization (Class)".

As youth in the new era, the 2017 Experimental Class of International Economics and Trade has always adhered to the Red Faith theoretically and practically. In the past 4 years, nearly 30 themed class meetings and group activities have been held, and all members have been organized to visit the "Five Years of Sheer Endeavor" large-scale achievement exhibition, carry out reading Red Classic activities, etc., and won the school-level titles of "Vibrant League Branch" and " Top Ten Classes of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU)". During the pandemic, the class held an online class meeting to learn from President Xi's reply letter to the Peking University Medical Team in Hubei, as well as the Reports on the Two Sessions and the Work of the Government. Each one of the classes participates actively in the Youth University Studies, meeting with the call by the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) to “Clean Your Plate”. At the same time, a class meeting with the theme of "Positive Energy during the Pandemic" was also held to share the anti-epidemic stories of themselves and those around them. In addition, most of the students in the class have been to Korea, Spain, and France as exchange students, communicating with students from all over the world, and broadening their international horizons. During the exchange, the class members deeply participated in the "Campus Ambassador" activities, shouldered the mission of cultural dissemination, and introduced Chinese traditional culture to hundreds of international students from the United States, Germany, France, Canada, Switzerland, Egypt, etc., with lingual advantages and based on the solid knowledge, displaying the style of students from IBS of BFSU.

When gathered there is a fire, while scattered there are full of stars. The students from 2018 Class 5 of Information Management have been on the road of endeavor. Since entering school, nearly 20 themed class meetings and group activities have been held among class members, and all members have been organized to visit exhibitions like “the Grand Achievement Exhibition for the 70th Anniversary of Great Course and Brilliant Achievements". In various competitions, the class has achieved good results and won honorary titles such as "2018-2019 Beijing Advanced Class", school-level titles of "Vibrant League Branch" and " Top Ten Classes of BFSU". During the pandemic, the class actively carried out online check-in learning activities, learned from President Xi's reply letter to the Peking University Medical Team in Hubei, as well as the Reports on Two Sessions and the Work of the Government, and held a group activity themed "Together with Youth, we fight the Epidemic", sharing the experience of the class students themselves and those around them fighting the epidemic. In addition, 5 students from the class were selected into the first BFSU project class for cultivating compound top-notch non-foreign language talents, and most of the class worked in various students’ departments in BFSU. They took active parts in activities of building careers and volunteering in and out campus, showing a positive and vigorous face of university students.

IBS has always attached great importance to class construction and management, continuously promoting and strengthening the establishment of student grassroots organizations. In the future, IBS will continue to be the linkage among the Party, the League, and the classes, providing guidance on students’ ideology, accelerating three-wide education, and deepening the "Cell Engineering" reform.
