Master of Professional Accounting

Introduction

Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) started to offer the Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) in 2018 and began admitting students in 2019. MPAcc of IBS features in multiple languages, interdisciplinary knowledge, and cross-cultural education. With our bilingual curriculum and extensive training, we aim to transform students into versatile professionals with a keen understanding of economic globalization and make our program a highlight at BFSU. Our leading faculty supports the growth of every student with a well-designed curriculum, sound academic cultivation, engaging social practice, and professional career consulting.

The MPAcc program creates a bilingual teaching and learning environment and is dedicated to cultivating professionals with cross-cultural thinking skills, familiar with Chinese and foreign accounting standards, Chinese and foreign financial management systems, and adaptable to the development of economic globalization.

Goals

The MPAcc sets out to train high-caliber accounting professionals with solid expertise in modern accounting, auditing, and financial management. Here, students will learn how to be law-abiding accountants with strong work ethics. Our program will also bring students international perspectives and cross-cultural competence. By applying business research methods to the actual enterprise practices and collecting financial information, our graduates are well-equipped to identify major challenges, make sound analysis, and put forward constructive solutions. Their strong problem-solving skills make them much-sought-after talent in multinational companies, accounting firms, investment companies, government agencies, and universities, etc.

This goal gives full play to BFSU’s strong suits while looking at the bigger picture. Language learning, specialized programs, and interdisciplinary education are key at BFSU. We are recognized for our talent cultivation standards which incorporate intercultural communication skills, teamwork, and foreign language proficiency into students’ performance assessment.

Features

At MPAcc, you can choose to dive into three research tracks: International Financial Management; International Accounting; and Internal Control and Auditing with a focus on accounting, financial management, cross-border taxation, and cross-border M&As. Our program trains you to be an expert well-versed in cross-border investment and financing, international capital markets, investment regulation policies, and global accounting and tax systems. Innovative education is made possible through the multi-lingual, multicultural, and interdisciplinary environment at BFSU.

Firstly, the international faculty team. The perfect mix of bilingual specialized courses and cross-cultural modules helps to develop competent cross-cultural thinkers with the ability to communicate, analyze, operate and make well-informed decisions in complex business competition.

Secondly, the global perspectives. Here, courses on international tax strategies for multinational enterprises are opened by industry leaders to make theories more practical. Meanwhile, social practice and enterprise visits will help students excel both academically and professionally.

Third, courses on Advanced Financial Management (AFM) and Advanced Audit Assurance (AAA) will help you secure an ACCA certificate.　　

Fourth, courses on ethics and governance and strategic management accounting are also available to help students to obtain CPA qualifications.

Fifth, engaging summer school will strengthen students’ communication and language skills to be competent to work in English.
