On the 19th of December, the 2nd IFCO Postgraduate Exchange and Development Forum of the International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University was held in the Sunshine Hall of Zhongguan Villa International Inventor Center. Attending the forum were: Ding Lei, Vice President of Development Co. Ltd[E1]., Su Bingqing, Assistant President and General Manager of New Space Division, and Yin Jinghui, alumni of IBS. Also in attendance were key graduate students from 13 universities, these being Beijing University of Technology, Beihang University, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing Language and Culture University, University of International Business and Economics, School of International Relations, Tsinghua University, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Renmin University of China, People's Public Security University of China, Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Central University of Finance and Economics.
The IFCO Postgraduate Exchange and Development Forum is based on the tenet of “Innovation, Focus, Cooperation, and Openness”, and aims to build a platform for exchange and communication for postgraduate groups in Beijing universities, and to provide better exchanges and opportunities to learn and improve organizational management systems. This forum is divided into two parts: the main forum and the sub-forum. The theme of the main forum was “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. Sun Yihua, member of the presidium of the Graduate Student Association of Beijing Foreign Studies University, first delivered a speech, welcoming the key representatives of graduate students from various universities, and briefly introduced the organizational structure and brand activities of the Graduate Student Association of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Thereafter, Ding Lei, Vice President of Beijing Venture Commune Investment Development Co., Ltd[E2]. delivered a speech to introduce the growth process and specific situation at Venture Commune, and encouraged key graduate students to actively communicate. This was followed firstly by Yin Jinghui, alumni of IBS, who shared her work as a student in her speech and encouraged the participants to expand their world through the exchange and collision of ideas. Subsequently, the representatives of the core graduate students of the various universities spoke and shared on the “organizational structure, brand activities and innovation and entrepreneurship projects” of their respective school/college graduate student unions;
Finally, Niu Huayong, Dean of IBS, pointed out in his concluding speech that through developments over time, there is still a gap between ideas[E3] and reality, thus emphasizing the importance of communications and communications, hoping that the core graduate students / grassroot student leaders in attendance can be innovative, embrace the spirit of thinking and sharing, be brave to take on social responsibilities, and carry out practical explorations with pragmatic actions.
At the conclusion of the main forum, representatives were divided into five groups respectively for the sub-forum, holding discussions under the theme of internet and big data on the work of postgraduate associations, ideological and political education, postgraduate employment competitiveness, innovation, and entrepreneurship activities, and the 27th reform of National Federation of Students[E4]. At the end of discussions, representatives from each sub-forum summarized and shared their findings on the respective topics, and provided new ideas for the work of the Graduate Association. Thus far, the 2nd IFCO Postgraduate Exchange and Development Forum of the International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University came to a fruitful and successful conclusion.
This forum has strengthened the connectivity, exchanges, and ties[E5] between the sister universities in Beijing, and established a platform for good and effective communication. It is hoped that the core graduate students have something to gain from this forum, and can further promote the work of the graduate student union more scientifically and effectively, and continue to maintain and deepen the cooperation, exchanges and ties between the various graduate Student Unions of the affiliated sister universities and colleges.
