Founded in 1980, the Society of Management Science of China (formerly known as Research Institute of Management Science of China) is supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The work scope covers academic research, consulting services, professional training, editing, and publication. As the first batch of the national and comprehensive societies of management science established in China, the Commission has the characteristics of multidisciplinary, cross-departmental, cross-industrial services and broad connections. In 1991, the Research Institute was renamed as Society of Management Science of China, in order to adapt to the new situation of the development of management science in China as well as to promote international academic exchanges in this area,.

Business Administration Commission (BAC) of the Society of Management Science of China is a subordinate institution of the Society. Backed by the International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University, the Business Administration Commission integrates global academic resources of the International Business School, highlights issues with the characteristics of the times, such as the operation and management of multinational enterprises, cross-cultural management, and the globalization of Chinese enterprises. It has carried out various forms of academic activities including academic research, conferences, lectures, exchanges, etc. It has conducted business activities such as offering consultations and training programs for enterprises. As a platform for cooperation, BAC encourages people from both academic field and enterprises to participate in various academic activities. Business Administration Commission of the Society of Management Science of China aims to systematically sort out and discuss the exchange and interaction of the two development mechanisms of industry and finance in the process of China’s financial development, build a theoretical framework for the integration and coordinated development of industry and finance, discover excellent practice cases in the field of industrial finance, promote the integration of industry and finance, facilitate China’s industrial upgrading, and serve the national strategies in the future.
