Seminar titled "How to help the teacher development in teaching and research" was held in meeting room 916, International Building, BFSU, by International Business School, Nov. 5, 2015. The seminar was given by Mel West, Dean of College of Education, Manchester University, UK and chaired by Xiaoyan HUANG, director of Teacher Development Centre, IBS.

At the beginning, professor West asked the teacher training system in China, then introduced the UK professional standard framework for teaching and supporting learning in higher education, which includes area of teaching, core knowledge and professional values. Subsequently, professor West introduced performance and development review procedure and guidance notes for academic and related staff in UK. Present teachers conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with Professor West on issues of teacher development and evaluation system.
