Review of activity
On the 20th of June, four volunteers from the YLGB&SU who are graduate students of the IBS, visited the “Nuan Nuan Children's Home” in Baimiao Village, Changping District, for the eighth volunteer activity this semester, and spent a joyous and fruitful afternoon with the children there.
Volunteers accompanied 7 hearing-impaired children and 2 mobile resident children [E1]to engage in activities such as drawing pictures, “playing drums and passing flowers”, “catching fish”, “You act, I guess” and domino building games; aiming to cultivate observation and communication skills in these hearing-impaired children. Volunteers patiently guide hearing-impaired children to participate in the games, adjust the pace of the games to cater for the children, and continuously observe and record the children's behavior. Parents affirmed the actions of the volunteers; and Mrs Wang, the supervisor in charge, praised the volunteers' serious service attitude and provided useful suggestions and guidance to the volunteers. The activity was successfully carried out.
“Nuan Nuan Children's Home” is run and managed by Nuan Nuan Love Charity Alliance and jointly funded by caring enterprises and individuals from all walks of life to provide free books for borrowing and various free courses for mobile, orphaned, and disabled children in the community, as well as children left behind by parents working in other cities. In the future, the Youth League General Branch and Student Union of graduate students of the International Business School shall continue to organize students to participate in the “Nuan Nuan Children's Home” volunteer scheme, accompany the children to grow up healthily, and contribute to social welfare activities.
Volunteers Feedback

Today, I participated in the volunteer activity of “Nuan Nuan Children's Home” for the first time. The whole afternoon passed by so quickly whilst enjoying a joyous time with the children. Participated in the activities with a total of nine children, ranging from 3 to 8 years of age. There were some hearing-impaired children who assisted by artificial cochlea, can be just the same as normal children; they are sensitive but are willing to express and communicate with others. What they need is patience, kindness, encouragement and guidance from people around them. After several rounds of lively games, all the children began to open their hearts to communicate with volunteers and play with their partners. As the end of the activity, when I saw the children waving to us, hugging us and hoping that we would come again next time, I really felt the meaningfulness and the value of this activity. I hope the children can grow up healthily and happily and all have a bright future!

This is not my first time to “Nuan Nuan Children's Home”; on this occasion, I have again spent a very joyous time with the children just like before. During the short afternoon, we engaged in a variety of activities with the children, including painting, “beating the drums to pass flowers”, “you act and I guess”, dominoes and other interesting games. Throughout the activities, we would gradually find the pace that is suitable for us and for the children, and let every children participate actively in all the activities; at the same time, we would also gradually learn and understand the characteristics of each child, and establish good relationships with them. Looking at their happy faces, I felt a sense of accomplishment from the afternoon's activities, and start to understand the significance and importance of volunteer activities. I hope all the children can grow up happily!

I have had almost no experience with children, so I was very nervous before attending this activity. However, after meeting the children at the venue and seeing the children warmly embracing each volunteer, I can feel the enthusiasm of the children and actively engage in the games with them. I sincerely hope that our participation can bring about happiness and companionship to them, and hope that the children can grow up healthily and happily!
