On April 16, 2022, the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University was held. Experts from universities, commercial banks, consulting firms, and think tanks participated the meeting. They were: Yi Zhihong, former Vice President of Renmin University of China, Wang Chongming, Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Research Centre of Zhejiang University, Wang Yonggui, Vice President of Capital University of Economics and Business, Li Tianxing, former Vice President of Fu Jen Catholic University, Sun Baowen, President of the China Institute of Internet Economics of Central University of Finance and Economics, Hua Guowei, Vice President of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University, Matthieu Dumont, President of SKEMA Business School China Campus. Joshua Park, Dean, SolBridge International Business School, Walsong University, Korea; Dongshuo Li, Founder, Chairman and President of UMU; Jiangtao Qian, from PricewaterhouseCoopers; Tong Ye, Chief Operating Officer of Caixin Insight; Sun Zhen, General Manager of Beijing Guanghua Private Banking Centre, China Minsheng Bank; Xu Xixi, Group Compliance Manager of ICBC Head Office.

Li Chunli, Secretary of the Secretary of Party Committee of the International Business School, delivered a welcome speech. Li Chunli pointed out that IBS has always attached importance to the guidance of experts in various fields and respected the suggestions of alumni on the development of the school. She hoped that the establishment of the Strategic Advisory Committee of IBS could give full play to the advantages of the advisory members themselves.

Niu Huayong, Dean of the International Business School, reported the development history and achievements of the School, focusing on the School's mission, strategic actions, discipline construction, teaching and research achievements, student employment, social influence, globalisation strategy, and the School's future development layout, and awarded appointment letters to the participating advisory members.

The third stage of the conference was the strategy discussion roundtable. The advisory members successively discussed the topics including how to further clarify the strategic mission and development goals of the IBS in terms of strategic planning by referring to the international university ranking indicators; how to strengthen the discipline construction under the new situation; how to adhere to the advantages and focus on breakthroughs in the discipline layout; how to better serve the society and the public. The members expressed their views and put forward many forward-looking opinions and suggestions.

Dean Niu Huayong expressed his sincere gratitude to the participating advisory members for the valuable opinions and suggestions put forward. The International Business School will fully absorb the insightful opinions of the members, keep the existing characteristics and advantages of running schools, continuously explore new potentials for future development, actively respond to the challenges existing in the domestic and international environment, and build a first-class global business school in China.
